PROBLEM: Voter turnout is at an all-time low — especially with young voters. In fact, the 2014 midterm election saw the lowest voter turnout in 72 years. Too much information providing too little, along with a lack of transparency has turned young voters off when it comes to politics and led to uninformed and disengaged citizens. 

Solution: VOCAL engages young voters with local politics, and educates them on local ballot measures and candidates before heading to the polls. It does this by providing users with a personalized voting guide, customized to their city and district. It shows only the propositions and candidates for their area and provides all the information they need and none they don’t in an engaging, simple, non-partisan way.
